Nahakwe Lodge offers fresh, modern event and accommodation facilities in Limpopo Province.
The recently-opened Nahakwe Lodge is situated in the Northern Limpopo district, between Polokwane and Thohoyandou. Nahakwe offers 19 well-appointed, stand-alone, en-suite rooms, each sleeping two people. Our central facilities include a large restaurant with lounge & pub, a craft shop, conference facility, pool and party lapa. Nahakwe Lodge is ideally situated for tourists wishing to explore the Elim Art Route, the artistic centre of Limpopo Province. It is also within an easy drive for visiting the salt harvesters at Baleni, the famous Modjadji Cycad reserve and the adventure-filled Magoebaskloof area. For business travellers to this area, Nahakwe offers comfortable and well-appointed facilities for overnight accommodation, and a convenient central location for meetings and conferences.
Owned by the local community of the Mamaila Kolobetona Traditional Authority, Nahakwe was opened on 26 September 2015 and is a showcase of a modern community-owned tourism enterprise. Built as part of the National Department of Tourism’s Social Responsibility Initiative (SRI), it was financed by the Expanded Public Works Program. The lodge provides the local community with a hub to build a tourism economy in the area, stimulating job creation and providing entrepreneurial opportunities. Importantly, the Lodge also offers excellent accommodation and event services for locals, businesses and organisations that require meeting and conference facilities.
Nahakwe Lodge is proudly part of the Transfrontier Parks Destinations (TFPD), portfolio. Appointed by the community, TFPD collaborates with the community to market and manage the lodge, bringing valuable skills and experience in running other successful community-owned destinations, to Nahakwe’s operations.
