“We stayed for two nights in the Sentinel Chalets at Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge as a base camp for our Amphitheatre Hike. After a day of cold and wet hiking it was wonderful to come back to the comfort of the Lodge, where our rooms had been heated for us, and fires were made in the communal lounge. Our wet and muddy clothes were laundered without us even asking so that when we returned from our hike the next day, we had dry clothes again! The food was great – just what we needed after a day on the mountains, and the rooms were wonderful. We were a group of women and our rooms were large and comfortable, with beautiful views as we lay in bed. Tea and coffee facilities were in the room, the bathrooms were well equipped and there were electric blankets for the cold nights. We ordered packed lunches on both days which consisted of perfect picnic food during our hike.
I highly recommend Witsieshoek – you will not find friendlier staff, excellent hiking guides or bigger smiles!”
