Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is situated in the Northern Drakensberg at the foot of the magnificent Sentinel Peak and looks across to the Drakensberg Mountains Mont-Aux-Sources and Amphitheater. It’s the trailhead for the Sentinel Peak Hike which is the access to the top of Tugela Falls – the highest waterfall in the world. View the endangered bearded vultures soaring overhead while enjoying this beautiful mountainous area, home to a variety of landscapes, rich flora, and fauna. The lodge offers comfortable Drakensberg accommodation in chalet, bungalow and backpackers options right in the heart of it all.

Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is located in the northern region of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains. Boasting some of the best hiking trails in all of South Africa, including Sentinel Peak and Mont-aux-Sources, the trails are easily accessible from the lodge. Where there is good hiking and climbing, you’ll often find a selection of great mountain bike trails. The Drakensberg is no exception to this rule with some of the best trails to be found within South Africa. All in all, the Drakensberg area is well- suited to the dirt- junkie with varying terrain, routes and distance.
